The City of Greenville's Department of Public Works consists of more than 20 employees and is responsible for the construction, renovation and operation of public projects ranging from storm sewer maintenance to the demolition of unsafe buildings; and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and street lights.

The City of Greenville Building and Grounds Department is responsible for maintenance of all City owned buildings.
The Sanitation Department provides curbside removal and disposal of household garbage, tree limbs, furniture, appliances, brush, pine straw, leaves and other yard waste for all residents within the city limits of Greenville.
